what we believe

Our Mission
To create living sanctuaries through prayer, worship, the Word of God, and a family atmosphere.

The Word of God
Move Church believes the scriptures to be the inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe that the holy scriptures are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the final authority for all Christian faith and
life.(2 Tim 3:16, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Matt. 5:17-18, John 10:34-36)

The Trinity
Move Church believes in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three manifestations; God the Father, God the
Son, and God the Holy Spirit.(Deut. 6:4, Is. 9:6, Matt.28:19,Rm. 1:20, 2 Cor. 3:14, Heb. 1:1-3)

The Father
Move Church believes in God the Father, an infinite personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He actively and mercifully intervenes in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through His son, Jesus Christ. (Ex. 34:6-7, John. 3:16, John. 4:23-24, Eph. 1:3)

The Son
Move Church believes that Jesus the Christ is fully God and man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He
lived a sinless life. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven. He is now our High Priest and Advocate at the right hand of the Father. (John 1:1-18, Col. 1:15-26, Eph.1:15-23, Heb. 2:23-25)

The Holy Spirit

Move Church believes that the Holy Spirit is fully God. We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son and is to be believed in, obeyed, and worshipped. We believe that every believer is indwelt by and sealed with the Holy Spirit at the moment of Salvation. The Holy Spirit convicts unbelievers of their need for Christ, He gives new birth to believers, He indwells, sanctifies, leads, teaches,
and empowers believers for Godly living and service. We believe that the ministry of the Spirit continues to be broad, tangible, and powerful among believers today as it was in the early church. (John 3:3-8, John 14:15-27, John 16:5-15, Rom. 8:9-17, 1 Cor. 2:12-14, Gal. 5:16- 26, Eph. 5:18-21, 1 Cor. 14:1-25)

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Move Church believes that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an experience subsequent to salvation and sanctification and is not to be confused with the indwelling that takes place at the moment of Salvation. We believe that we are not baptized with the Holy Ghost in order to be saved. We believe in the power of speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. We believe that all Biblical gifts of the Spirit continue to be distributed by the Spirit today, these gifts are divine provisions central to spiritual growth and effective ministry. We believe that these gift are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised according to Biblical guidelines. (Acts 2,
Galatians 5:22-23; Acts 10:46, 19:1-6)

Man
Move Church believes that God created man in His image. We believe that man is a sinner by nature and action and is therefore spiritually dead. We also believe that those who repent of
sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are spiritually born again to new life by the Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:27, Eph. 2:1-9, Rom. 3:9-26, Rom. 5:12-21, Acts 2:38-39)

Salvation
Move Church believes that salvation is a free gift of God and is received by man through faith in Jesus Christ apart from any human merit, works, or ritual. We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for forgiveness of sins for all who believe and that only those who receive Jesus
are born of the Spirit and are given eternal life. (Eph. 2:4-9, Tit. 3:5-7, Rom. 3:21-31, John 3:16-17, Acts 16:29-34, Rom. 10:9-10, John 8:23-24, John 14:6, I Tim. 2:3-6)

Resurrection
Move Church believes in the bodily resurrection from the dead of the believer to everlasting joy with the Lord and of the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment. (Matt 25, I Cor. 15:35-58, II Cor. 5:1-10, II Thess. 1:5-10)

The Church
Move Church believes that the Church is composed of all people who through saving faith in Jesus Christ are united together in the Body of Christ of which he is the head. Move Church believes in the full autonomy of the local church as an independent entity under the Lordship of Christ, through pastoral authority, with regards to: A) government, polity, and operations, B) discipline, and C) with the added value of the
Episcopacy as a covering. We believe that ordinances of the local church are believers’ baptism and the Lord’s Supper. All believers should participate in these ordinances. (Eph.1:22, 2:14-22, 4:1-5, John 13:1-17)

Christ’s Return

Move Church believes that the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our future hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (Matt. 24, John 14:1-4, I Thess. 4:16-18, Tit. 2:11-14). Spiritual Gifts of Christ to the Church Move Church believes in the development, activation, and service of the Five-Fold Ministry or Ascension gifts in the Church. We believe that Jesus Christ gave gifts to man and those gifts are to serve the Body of Christ for the maturing and perfecting of the saints. (Eph. 4:8-16. I Cor. 12:1-4, I Cor. 12:28)

Christian Responsibility
Move Church believes that the highest priorities for every believer are the great commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” These commands are fulfilled by glorifying God, enjoying Him, and fulfilling His great commission to go and make
disciples of all nations. These pursuits require personal commitments to live by the truth of God’s Word and to depend on the power of His Spirit. Both the Word and the Spirit call us to a life of Christ-like character, wholehearted worship, generous giving, unselfish service, and compassionate outreach to the lost. (Matt 22:37- 40, Matt 28:19-20, I Tim. 3:16, Eph. 5:18-21, Eph. 4:12-13, John 4:23-24, Luke 6:38, Matt
20:26-28, Luke 15)

Tithes, Offering, and Alms Giving
Move Church believes that every believer should be a cheerful giver and sow into the
ministry of the church. Every believer should have a true understanding of tithing, giving, and benevolence as the Word of God teaches. Move Church believes in the help of orphans, widows, and missions. (Heb. 7:1-10, Matt. 10:38, Gen. 14:17-20, Gen 28:22, Luke 6:38, Mark 10:29).
